Breast Lift

Over time, the links between the chest tissue and the front chest wall limps due to age, pregnancy, gain or loss of weight, gravitation and structural or genetic causes, resulting sagging breasts. These sagging breasts can be treated by a Breast Lift operation.
This operation is usually performed when the breasts get shrunk due to breastfeeding after being enlarged during pregnancy, or when breasts sag and lose their aesthetic appearance. The nipple is turned downwards and sags in case of sagging breasts.
At the same time, asymmetries and differences in the breasts can be corrected by performing a breast lift operation.
The results can be obtained by breast lift operation
  • Lift the breast nipple and the dark colored area around it to the top.
  • Reduce the excess skin in the breast.
  • Beautify the breast shape.

Before Breast lift operation

  • The doctor must meet with the patient and discuss all the situations and make the decision accordingly.
  • Mammography and ultrasound imaging should be done for patients over the age of 40, for patients who had any risk factors detected in the breasts previously like breasts lumps, or in case of the patient’s near-relatives have breast cancer situations.
  • The surgery takes about 1-3 hours depending on the procedure will be performed.
  • Patient should tell the doctor about the medicines she is taking. If these medicines affect the surgery, the patient should stop taking them for a certain period before the surgery.
  • If the patient is a smoker, its recommended for her to quit smoking before the surgery to speed up the recovery process.

How does Breast lift operation Done?

Mild sagging:
The breast is lifted by making a small incision around the nipple. The intervention is performed through the nipple by reassembling and rising the chest tissue to the top. We obtain a lifted breast.
Moderate Sagging:
If there is sagging or excessive skin in the lower part of the breast, the skin is extracted from that area to reassemble and tighten the breast. A downward extended scar will be seen under the nipple.
Significant sagging:
Certain techniques are used in this case and in the end of the operation a scar with the shape of a straight line goes downward from the nipple or with the shape of an inverted (T) letter will be formed.
Because of the thinned and sag being of both, connective tissue which holds the breast and the tissue of the milk glands, the incision will be down from the nipple.
The nipple is suspended upward after tissues reassembly. Surgical drains which take the blood out in order to prevent the blood gathering inside the breast are placed after the operation.

After Breast lifting operation

  • It is enough for the patient to stay one night in the hospital after surgery.
  • Surgical drains are taken out in  the 2nd day after surgery depending on the situation.
  • It is recommended to wear a bra without an underwire for the first 3 months after surgery
  • Breast lift surgery’s scars takes its final state in about 1 year, as time goes by it takes the color of the skin.
  • Exposing the incision to the sunlight must be avoided until the surgical incision becomes white.
Even if there were pains in the first day after the operation, these pains can be easily determined as the patient will spend her first day after the operation in the hospital.
  • The patient can return to her work within 7 days depending on the level of sagging.
  • It is recommended to avoid heavy movements for the first three months.
  • We should not forget that it is possible for breasts to sag again after the operation due to birth giving, weight gaining and losing dramatically.
  • It is possible to get swelling, numbness of the nipple and a difference in the color of the chest skin, but all these symptoms are temporary.
  • Because of the protection of milk channels and glands during the breast lift surgery, there will not be any problem in milk producing.

Breast lifting operation costs

Breast lift surgery prices are reviewed in three categories;
  • 1st MethodLifting and assembling the breast without placing any implants or performing any fat injection. This method considered the least expensive.
  • 2nd method: Placing an implant while lifting the breast tissue in order to adjust the breast size and stiffness. This method is a little more expensive than the first one.
  • 3rd method: In addition to the placement of an implant to give the appropriate shape and rigidity of the Breast, fat injectetions are injected in the surrounding of the breast in order to get more regular tissue during the breast lifting. This method is considered the most expensive among these three methods.
Doctor will make the decision about which of these methods will be most appropriate for you by conducting the necessary measurements and procedures during the examination.

Frequently Asked questions about Breast lifting

  • Why breasts sag?
Breasts sags due to pregnancy, gaining or losing weight excessively and quickly. Aging, and some genetic factors.
  • Does implant used in breast lifting? Does breast lifting without placing implant is enough?
Placing implants differs depending on the size and structure of the patient’s breast. If there is no excessive sagging and the size of the breast tissue is suitable for placing implant, we can obtain a lifted breast by only placing an implant. However, in case the breast size is significantly shrinked, only breast lifting may be insufficient. In this case, performing both breast lifting and implants placement in the same operation can provide size gain to the breast.
  • Will be there milk production problems after breast lift surgery?
Because milk glands and ducts are not damaged during breast lift operation, women can give birth and produce milk without any problems.
  • After how long can I have a breast lift after giving birth?
Women can undergo a breast lift surgery at the end of breastfeeding periods.

What Is Cataract?

Cataract is the opacity of the lens by losing its transparency. It causes the images to be blurred and not transmitted to the center of vision clearly by adding the lens formed in the lens. Sometimes cataracts become so intense that people cannot see anything except to feel the light. People who develop cataracts see it as if they are looking through a misty or frosted glass.
