FUE Hair Transplant

What is FUE Hair Transplant?
FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) hair transplant is a type of hair transplantation operation that is frequently performed as a permanent solution of baldness (alopecia). In short, it is the process of taking the hair follicles one by one using a micro motor device and placing them in their new places.

How many kinds of FUE techniques are available?

Whatever we called the name of the technique used for FUE hair transplantation, the sequence of the process does not change radically. The most common techniques are the CLASSIC FUE and SAPPHIRE FUE, the main difference between these two techniques is the used tools while opening channels. In classic FUE normal slit is used, while in Sapphire FUE, the sapphire tip is used to open the channels.

Hair analysis and pre-examination

All patients who want to have a hair transplant operation should have a general medical examination first. During this general examination; any chronic disease, previous surgical operations and any allergies to any drugs or other factors of the patient are diagnosed. After that, the suitability of the patient to hair transplant will be determined according to the results of a detailed clinical examination and hair analysis.
During hair analysis, we try to find out the cause of hair loss. In order to find out the cause of hair loss, we do some blood tests and review the patient’s medical history. After reviewing the results of the blood analysis and the medical history of the person and making sure that he/she doesn’t have any systemic diseases, we examine the donor area. In case the number of follicles in the donor area is enough and the cause of hair loss does not prevent hair transplantation.

Frontal hairline drawing

Frontal hairline drawing is one of the most important stages of hair transplantation. Because, the front hair line is an important factor that not only affects the appearance of the person but also affects his mood and psyche. The drawing of the front hairline, how much hair density will be, the shape of the recesses and protrusions of the front hairline is done by specialized doctors in our clinic.

What are the steps of FUE hair transplant?

  • Before starting the operation, we prepare the donor area and apply local anesthesia thus the patient will not feel any pain during the operation.
  • After that, we extract the follicles using a special device called Micro Motor and put them in a container that contain a special solution to preserve the follicles.
  • The next step will be preparing the receiving area, apply the local anesthesia and opening channels with placing the follicles in these channels. We should make sure that these channels are suitable with the length of the grafts and the direction of the original hair.

Why do we take the grafts from the donor area?

Hairs in the donor area are genetically more resistant to shedding. That’s why we prefer to take the grafts from the donor area.

Can follicles be taken from other parts of the body for hair transplantation?

Hair follicles can be taken from different parts of the body such as chest and beard in people who do not have sufficient follicles in the donor area (nape) or who do not have hair in the donor area (nape) due to a different disease.

How long does it take for the receiving area to recover?

After a few days after the operation, the hair scabs begin to appear in the places where the hair transplanted. The recovery period of the donor and receiving area is two days and the person should follow the doctor’s instructions during this period, and in the third day patient should wash his hair and do some hair care as the doctor described.
The scabs in the donor and receiving area begin to fall off after about 10 days of hair wash. Two weeks after the operation, the donor and receiving areas will be recovered completely and there will be no scars or traces left at all.

When do hair transplant results appear?

Some of the transplanted hair might shed after hair transplantation; this is an expected thing so patient shouldn’t be worried about it. Because, the falling part of hair is not the root.
Hair roots remain under the skin, and new hair starts to grow from the existing hair follicles approximately 2.5-3 months after transplanting, this process can last for up to one year. The period between the eighth and twelfth months of hair transplantation is the best period to evaluate the result of hair transplantation. The thickness of hair increases starting from the date of transplantation until this period and the hair thickness becomes close to the thickness of the hair in the donor area.
There is no need for an extra special care for the transplanted hair. It can easily cut, washed, shaped, dyed etc… .

What are the advantages of FUE Hair Transplant?

The most important advantage of FUE hair transplant technique is that there will be no trace or scar of hair transplantation due to the single extraction of the follicles. Since there will be no scar or trace after the operation, it is possible for the patient to keep his hair short.

FUE Hair Transplant without shaving

FUE Hair transplantation without shaving has the same steps as classic FUE hair transplantation, the only difference between them is that it’s done with shaving the hair. This alternative method can be applied to people who we find appropriate for it after the examination, but it takes a very long time and its harder than the classic FUE hair transplantation and it carries a high risk of losing follicles during follicles extraction phase.

What Is Cataract?

Cataract is the opacity of the lens by losing its transparency. The eye has an optical structure and the images coming from the external environment are first refracted through the cornea, which is the transparent layer on the outermost part of the eye, and then through the lens layer inside the eye, and thus it is clearly transmitted to the visual center. It causes the images to be blurred and not transmitted to the center of vision clearly by adding the lens formed in the lens. Sometimes cataracts become so intense that people cannot see anything except to feel the light. People who develop cataracts see it as if they are looking through a misty or frosted glass. Periodontology (Gum Disease)

In cases where oral care is inadequate, a bacterial plaque that is a rich, soft, sticky layer of microorganisms on the tooth surface accumulates. This layer causes gingivitis with tooth decay. Healthy gums are pale pink in color, with orange peel appearance and hardness. When the gums lose their health they are swollen, red, bleeding and moving. If the treatment is delayed, the tooth stones accumulate causing the bone surrounding the tooth to erase. The gums start to pull out. This condition is both sensitive to heat changes and causes aesthetic problems as well as oral odor and even dental inflammation in very advanced conditions. If they go further, tooth loss starts. Gum disease also occurs in the case of inadequate oral care, hormonal changes, genetic factors, drug use, some systemic diseases; If there is a problem already existing, it progresses rapidly.
