PRP Treatment

PRP treatment is the process of drawing a blood sample from a person and placing it in special tubes and inserts it into a centrifuge device to separate the blood components from each other and take the rich plasma and inject it again in the same person’s body.

How to get PRP?

During PRP treatment an amount of 10-15 mm blood is drawn, put in a special tubes and get centrifuged. As a result to this process, more platelets are deposited in the plasma. This platelet-enriched plasma is given to the same person by injection.

How does PRP work?

The blood cells and platelets in the PRP contain the necessary “growth factors” to repair and restore the damaged tissues in our body. If there is any damage in our tissues, these blood cells run to the damaged tissue and initiate the repair process. In case of PRP treatment, platelets accumulate in the damaged tissue more than it does under normal conditions, thus the repair process goes faster and stronger.

Patient should not take a hot bath on the same day after procedure also sunscreen creams should be used.
7. Is PRP a stem cell therapy?
PRP is not a stem cell therapy treatment. PRP treatment speeds up tissue regeneration due to increment of platelet count resulted from PRP injection. After PRP application, the fibrin networks formed in the skin work with the stem cells indirectly by collecting the stem cells in their environment. Therefore, when the skin is treated with PRP, the process of skin repair and regeneration is triggered.
